My personal prediction for the year 2018:

I'll settle for being happy, healthy and still curious about all sorts of things in 20 years. I expect the world to become less diverse; people,cities and food around the world we be more similar, and the natural environment will become poorer.

New astronomical & archaeological discoveries will affect our views of philosophy & religion & we will all have to debate what to do about genetic engineering & overpopulation.
